Twinkle Toes and Tutus (Dancing)

Some of my first memories consist of trying to please my Ballet teacher, Mrs Robbin's, by performing 'good toes, naughty toes' and exercises like 'the rag doll' and 'the policeman directing traffic'. Every weekend I wore my lycra, bright pink tutu, tights and ballet shoes with pride as I pranced around the local village hall. A couple of years later I began Tap and Modern and this weekly hobby soon grew into a life-long passion. By the time I reached secondary school I was never questioned about what GCSE I was going to take, or what I was going to do when I finished school. Everyone knew that dance was the top of my list, I took GCSE dance and continued onto College and studied a BTEC National Diploma in Dance.

Contemporary dance is now where my passion lies. Studying a degree in dance means that I can explore various contemporary techniques and hopefully develop into an all-round good dancer, choreographer and performer. Performing and entertaining an audience is what gets my heart racing the most! To hear an audience clap because they are impressed with the way you move is an amazing feeling.
